I couldn't do that, not entirely silent. But yeah, to live between the woods would be great, and go so now and then to a little village where you can get your food, hmm =)
I'm going to that this summer you know, but only my work is being a entertainer at a camping. So all those screaming kids will compare the silence, so it will be the same as now. haha
But I will get some good pictures this summer though!
ah, i love this little cabin in the woods! i don't know if i could be completely silent for a year, but probably a good chunk of time. i am usually pretty quiet when i am alone.
I have a friend who will take a personal vow of silence for a month or 2 every couple of years. I feel now like I should have done it... for awhile anyway. But it's impossible now, for me. Ohh the things you say when you say nothing at all.

it's something to think about --- especially if one gets to stay in that beautiful treehouse in the meantime and just write and write.
have you read A Book of Silence by Sarah Maitland? It's a pretty good read if you're interested in the subject..
