For some unknown reason, this poem by Emily Dickinson was going through my head all day. I think it's one of the most beautiful poems (in English) i've ever read. What also helps, is that i adore the movie Sophie's Choice and this poem takes a special place in that movie. The way Meryl Streep plays the role of Sophie is beautiful and heartbreaking. Her accent, her clothes....and the way she reads this poem...
Ample make this bed.
Make this bed with awe;
In it wait till judgment break
Excellent and fair.
Be its mattress straight,
Be its pillow round;
Let no sunrise' yellow noise
Interrupt this ground.
