The difficult tag (and the other side of me?)

Lovely Marian of the gorgeous blog The House of Style tagged me.
Thanks you so much, sweetheart!

Although i think i'll have some problems with this tag because of the pretty difficult questions, i'll do my very best to make the most out of it.

The Rules:

- State 8 things you like about yourself.
- State 3 things you dislike about yourself.
- State 5 things you previously disliked about yourself but have learned to love.
- You (the tagged blogger) must state something you love about the person tagging you.
- You must state something you love as well about the individual you go on to tag.
- You must put an image of at least one of the things you like about yourself and one you dislike.

Hmm..okay, let's start!

8 things i like about myself

1) I have a good heart, i want to make people happy.
2) I am very honest, i can't even lie (well, almost never and certainly not about big things...)
3) I am a funny person (really!!) and can make people laugh.
4) I have the ability to make people feel comfortable when they're around me.
5) I am happy with my eyes, as they're big and i have long eyelashes. If i put on mascara, i look awake instantly, even when i am really not!

6) I like my hands, they're quite big (but in a feminine way!) and i have long and lean fingers.
7) I have a strong personality, i don't let people walk right over me (we say this in Dutch, but if it is proper English...?)
8) I never give up, even when i am feeling really down and things seem to be totally out of my control, i always seem to find my strenght and go on.

(.)

3 things i dislike about myself:

1) I am very stubborn, i rarely admit other people are right when i am sure they're not! Sometimes i have to be a little bit more open to other people's opinions.
2) I am a very emotional person, sometimes i really hate that and i wish i had a little less feelings.

(.)
3) I am not happy with the way my body looks at the moment, at all! To be honest, it makes me feel quite unsure about myself.

5 things I previously disliked about myself but have learned to love

1) I am not always a people person. There was a time when i thought that it was weird that i wanted to be alone sometimes, but now i know and i feel it's a good thing and very healthy also.

(.)
2) My height! I am 180 cm. tall (i guess that's around 6 ft.) and i hated it when i was younger, i always felt like everybody was watching me while i wanted to be invisible. Now i like my height and i can see the beauty of it.
3) Showing my feelings to other people quite easily. In the past that made me feel like a weak and easy-to-hurt person, but now i believe it's a good thing when you are not afraid of showing how you feel and share that with other people (only a few people, of course.)
4) I have a few very good friends, while some people around me always are anybody's friend. It used to make me feel less social and likeable than others, but now i know some really good friends mean so much more than being friends with everybody while not even really knowing them.
5) My insecurity. I used to feel like i had to be much more selfconscious and strong, but now i feel like my insecurity also makes me humble and that's a thing that i really respect in others, so i guess i may also like that about myself.

What I love about Marian is of course her style, she dresses amazingly beautiful.
She looks so strong and beautiful in her clothes and the fact she has a beautiful dark colour makes her even more beautiful and strong looking.
I really feel so good every time she comments on my blog, because i just feel her always sweet comments really come from the heart. That's very special to me and i am very grateful for that!

The person i am going to tag is Mandy from one of my favourite blogs ever Soir de Fete. Sorry girl, maybe you don't want this tag, but i just had to give it to you!
The thing i love about Mandy is her amazing sense of style and beautiful things. Also the lovely, funny and sometimes 'deep' conversations i have with her (online!) make me feel good and give me the feeling we share a lot of things. She understands me and i understand her, even when we don't know each other in real life.
Mandy is very intelligent, creative and talented. I'd love her to do this tag, because i am really curious about what she has to say about herself!

(I changed the rules just a little bit by also posting some other pictures..i couldn't resist...)

The grey and the calm

(.)

Today is probably one of the most grey and rainy days Holland has seen in months.
However, i feel good. I made some decisions that weren't easy, but i made them. Something to be proud of, i guess.

I have to go to yoga class in about an hour and i have to do lots of reading for a project that just started at University, but i couldn't resist doing another post!

I found an amazing blog, with gorgeous photography. Vicky Slater's blog is definitely worth a visit!

Since fall (and winter!) are coming and i can already smell it, i started thinking about what to buy myself for these coming seasons. I don't 'need' anything, to be honest, but i was thinking about buying some great knitwear that i will love for the next couple of years, or even better: for the rest of my life!
These pieces by Sveta Dresher are absolutely gorgeous! Oh, and everything is made out of 100% organic materials!

(I am planning to dress like a little snowman this coming winter, i think it's so cute to wear lots of knitted things on your head in pale colours...)

What about these stunning items?

This dress by Swedish label Nakkna (found here) is simply stunning.
I love the shape and the print.....

More Nakkna...

To finish this post, i want to show you some pictures i saved on my laptop, but i don't know where i got them from....so no sources.

I want to thank you all once again for leaving such amazing comments on my blog.
I have no words for how much this means to me, really....

N.E.E.T. # 12

Go and read it!
It's such fun and especially watch the adverts closely, there are great finds (Etsy, vintage)!

Sometimes....

....you need to cheer yourself up.
Just to take life a little more easy than it really is.
Or to make yourself stop crying....
or just because you need it.

I was wondering, what do you do to cheer yourself up?
What do you do when things seem dark, cold and oh so lonely (when they maybe even aren't)?
Or do you never really have that feeling that life's a mess and you just don't know what to do with it?

Last weekend the weather was amazing and i was so happy i could eat my breakfast in the garden. It was such a great moment. The little things make most happy, don't you think?

(I look at beautiful things to cheer myself up....you must think: she needs a lot of cheering up then, when she posts so much things she finds beautiful...)
Well, let's say, this is not the easiest part of my life (I hope), but i always hope this is the part of my life that really creates me and makes me a more conscious and beautiful person.
And i also strongly believe everything happens for a reason (how cliche this might sound). That thought really can cheer me up when things seem meaningless....

(.)
Those pictures above are probably the most gorgeous ones i've ever seen, i am in love with the colours.....there are no words for this.
His Flickr is amazing, you should take a look.

So what i did today, immediately when i came back from university (the first day of my last year today, after the holidays!), is searching the internet for beauty/beautiful things. It sounds stupid, but i am really so grateful to all those people in the world who put such amazing things on the internet.
Where would i be without it? Hmm...just where i am right now maybe?
These pictures are for all of you who read my blog (thank you sooo much!) and for one other blogger in particular, who i know has a hard time...i wonder if she knows i am talking about her... :)
Hopefully it will cheer you up, when you need it!

So, first some amazing photographs that made my day....
Flickr is really such a great place, since i discovered it, i can't be away from that site for too long, i honestly miss it...

I really love driving in a car (okay, not driving myself...i don't have my license yet) and look at all the things that pass. I love it the most when you're driving very fast on the highway and everything passes by so soon...nice music on.....
The best is when the sky is really beautiful in the evening...with glimpses of pink and purple...

Some pictures i made myself...

This Balenciaga S/S 08 collection was pure art.
It made me so happy when i first saw it. It's definitely my favourite collection by Balenciaga i've seen so far.

I really want a SX-70 polaroid camera. I am very curious about the difference between a picture made with a 600 camera and one made with a SX-70.
The only thing is, i am afraid i can't buy SX-70 film anywhere, so i have to modify the camera so it will take 600 film. But how? I've read some things on the internet, but i am really scared i'll mess it up. Anyone who did this and want to tell me something about it? Was it an easy thing to do?

(Honestly, i hate how chaotic this post is, but i seem to be unable at this moment to make it any better. Sorry for that, i do hope you like it after all...)
